Ken Owens Info
Date of Birth:
3 - 1 - 1987
The Carmarthen born hooker joined the region in 2004 through the Scarlets Academy and burst onto the scene in the 2009-10 season with some outstanding performances.
On 15 February 2010, Owens was called into Wales 2010 Six Nations squad. He was also a member of the 2011 Rugby World Cup squad, and made his debut for Wales on 26 September 2011 against Namibia as a second half replacement.
His first start for Wales came in the 2012 Six Nations Championships against England at Twickenham, in which Wales secured the Triple Crown, on their way to the Grand Slam. Becoming first choice hooker for Wales in 2016-17, Owens was one of three hookers who travelled with the British and Irish Lions to New Zealand in the summer of 2017.
His deadly accuracy with a ball at the line-out and his willingness to truck the ball up have made him one of Wales' all-time hookers.
