The Scarlets Easter Girls Only Camp proved another big success.
Close to 70 girls spent the day at Parc y Scarlets where Scarlets Ladies and Wales women’s internationals Hannah Jones and Ffion Lewis were on hand to pass on their skills.
Scarlets and Wales stars Leigh Halfpenny and Rhys Patchell also dropped in after training to have their photos taken with the girls and to sign autographs.
The camp highlights the growth of the girls and women’s game in Wales following the launch of the WRU female hubs earlier this month.
There are eight hubs across the region who will be training throughout the summer.
Scarlets community co-ordinator Chris Jones said: “It was fantastic to see so many girls playing rugby with a smile on their face. We had close to 70 attend the camp and it was brilliant to have Hannah and Ffion there to pass on their skills and expertise and Leigh and Rhys come in and spend some time with the girls.”
Ffion Lewis, who made her full senior Wales debut last November, said: “When I was younger I came to a camp here which was mainly boys, it’s fantastic to see so many here in a girls only camp and brilliant for the growth of the sport in Wales.
“It will be wonderful to see some of these girls playing for the Scarlets and possibly Wales one day.”
