Pivac; “We knew it was going to be difficult against the Blues,”

“It’s important for us to keep winning at home,” says Pivac ahead of Friday’s clash

Scarlets will welcome Dragons Rugby to Parc y Scarlets on Friday 5th January in the third derby in ten days looking to secure a trio of Welsh derby victories.

The Conference B clash sees table-toppers Scarlets take on sixth placed Dragons whilst Leinster and Ulster, in second and third position, go head-to-head.

Looking ahead to Friday night’s Guinness PRO14 clash head coach Wayne Pivac said; “We’re not getting too far ahead of ourselves. The Dragons will no doubt want a big scalp.

“They’ve got some talented players but what we’ve got to do with these short turnarounds, which is the biggest challenge for us right now, is making sure that our house is in order.

“These derbies have been tight affairs. We’ll be focusing on ourselves. It’s another derby and we’ve seen over the last two matches how tight they can be. That game will no doubt be another exciting game.

“We’ve done the double over the Ospreys and the Blues and the Dragons are the last Welsh team for us to play, it’ll be the first time we play them this season. It’s important for us to keep winning at home.”

Scarlets will complete their festive trio of Welsh derbies when they take on Dragons Rugby at Parc y Scarlets on Friday 5th January, kick-off 7.35pm.
