Scarlets A will look to make it three Celtic Cup victories in a row when they take on Connacht A at Corinthians RFC on Friday night (7pm kick-off).
Last year’s finalists have racked up 14 tries in their last two wins over the Ospreys (55-14) and Dragons (40-35) and head coach Richard Kelly is urging his side to maintain that momentum in the west of Ireland.
There are again wholesale changes following last weekend’s entertaining clash at Rodney Parade.
Up front, Shaun Evans and Javan Sebastian return to the starting line-up, while Chris Long and Lewis Ellis-Jones form a new second-row partnership.
Jac Morgan continues to captain the side from openside flanker, part of a back row that includes Lewys Millin and Gethin Davies.
Behind the scrum, fly-half Ioan Hughes and centre Osian Knott are the lone survivors from the backline that took the field in Newport with a number of the Scarlets’ talented young players handed another opportunity to impress.
“There were lots of positives to take out of the Dragons game. We scored some great tries and were also put under a lot of stress at times, but the boys stuck in there and came through with the win,” said Kelly.
“Connacht will be another tough test for a young side, but we will be going there with a real positive mindset.”
