Three Scarlets are named in the Wales U20s squad to take on France in their next Six Nations clash at Stadiwm Zipworld, Colwyn Bay on Friday evening (7.35pm).

Hooker Dom Booth, who was part of the Scarlets match-day squad against Edinburgh last weekend, is named in the starting XV, as well as flanker and captain Jac Morgan. Prop Callum Williams takes his place on the replacements bench.

Centre Osian Knot, who crossed for two tries in the defeat to Ireland last time out, is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a knee injury. Lock Jac Price is also ruled out because of injury.

Head coach Gareth Williams has made seven changes in all from the loss in Cork.

“You could see in the second half against Ireland where we put that element of pressure rugby into place we got good value out of it – if we could have done that on a few more occasions in the first half that game would have gone down to the wire,” said U20s head coach Gareth Williams.

“France have been flag bearers over the last few years in this age group – we look forward to bringing them to Colwyn Bay to face the challenge of going up against them.

“We are aware of what’s coming but I hope the disappointment from the Ireland game will drive our boys on as that game could have been much closer if we hadn’t committed errors in the first half. Ultimately we just want to keep putting ourselves into those positions.”
