Wales U20s picked up a deserved first victory of their Six Nations campaign against Scotland at the Arms Park on Friday night, with three Scarlets playing their part in a 31-21 bonus-point win.

Tight-head prop Jac Pritchard has been one of the standout performers in Richard Whiffin’s side during the tournament and put in another strong display in the No. 3 jersey; fly-half Carwyn Leggatt-Jones landed nine points from the tee as well as a lovely weighted cross-field kick for wing Dylan Scott’s second-half try, while replacement tight-head Yestyn Cook, on his U20s debut, produced an eye-catching cameo off the bench.

Wales take on Ireland – surprise winners over England on Friday night – in Cork in round four.

In the domestic game, Carmarthen Quins were beaten 54-19 by RGC at Colwyn Bay in the final round of the SRC Cup pool stages. Academy centre Gabe McDonald crossed for one of the Quins’ three tries, while fellow Scarlets Thomas Williams, Rhodri Lewis, Ben Willians, Keanu Evans and Ioan Jones – making his return from injury – also featured.

Llandovery are through to the semi-finals of the cup after their match at Ebbw Vale was cancelled because of a waterlogged pitch. Both sides were awarded two points apiece.
