Former Scarlets prop Werner Kruger was back at the Parc on Saturday, catching up with some old friends and team-mates.

Werner, now part of the Vodacom Bulls coaching team, played 124 matches for the Scarlets during a five-year spell at the club and was a member of the squad that clinched the Guinness PRO12 title in 2017.

He retired from rugby in 2021, saying he had loved every minute of his time in Llanelli.

Capped four times for the Springboks, Werner also played more than a century of matches for the Bulls in Super Rugby and the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup during a remarkable 16-year professional career.

After Saturday’s thriller, Werner signed his 100th appearance ‘Milestone Photo’ which sits proudly on the walls of the tunnel at Parc y Scarlets.
