It was a night to remember for three of our Academy players who made their United Rugby Championship debuts in the Scarlets’ 23-0 win over Glasgow Warriors on Saturday.
Tenby product Iori Badham put in an accomplished display on the right wing, earning the praise of head coach Dwayne Peel post-match, while fly-half Carwyn Leggatt-Jones – who only turned 18 on Friday – and centre Gabe McDonald came on in the final minutes.
Full-back Jac Davies also impressed in the No. 15 jersey in only his third Championship appearance.
Hooker Harry Thomas, with two driving maul tries, and flanker Tiaan Sparrow were on the scoresheet for Llandovery in their Super Rygbi Cymru win over Aberavon at Church Bank. Props Gabe Hawley and Josh Morse, second row Dan Gemine and replacements Kai Jones, Gryff Watkins and Steff Jac Jones, who kicked a late penalty, also featured in the 30-14 triumph.

Carmarthen Quins were beaten at Ebbw Vale in a top-of-the-table clash. All Quins had to show for their efforts were two penalties from the boot of Academy fly-half Elis Price. Half-back partner Rhodri Lewis, wing Thomas Williams and flanker Osian Williams also started the game at Eugene Cross Park, with back-rower Ben Williams coming off the bench.
