Scarlets turned on the razzle dazzle with a superb second-half display to claim a bonus-point 35-10 win over Glasgow at Parc y Scarlets.

The Warriors came into this URC Round 13 match on the back of a five-game winning run, but the Scots were blown away by a spectacular Scarlets display after the break.

After Glasgow had built a 10-0 lead just before half-time, Steff Evans set the ball rolling for the home side with his 49th try in the competition, then skipper Scott Williams, scrum-half Gareth Davies, man of the match Sione Kalamafoni and wing Ryan Conbeer added further scores.

It was Glasgow, though, who had bossed the early exchanges, dominating possession and territory through their powerful forward runners.

One of those, hooker Johnny Matthews, was driven over for a converted try in the fifth minute, then fly-half Duncan Weir added a penalty.

Needed some inspiration, it was the lively Evans who provided it with a couple of minutes remaining in the first half.

A clever line-out move saw Patchell put half-back partner Gareth Davies into space with an inside pass; the Wales nine, who had an outstanding match, fed Evans and the winger did the rest.

Rhys Patchell’s conversion made it 10-7 at the break and it got better quickly for the Scarlets straight after half-time.

Flanker Dan Davis delivered the spark, dancing down the touchline, handing on to Evans who delivered the try-scoring pass to skipper Williams. Patchell again added the extras.

Growing in confidence, the Scarlets moved up the gears. Then came a crucial swing in proceedings on 57 minutes.

Glasgow had a try chalked off for obstruction in midfield and from the resultant penalty, Patchell kicked to the corner which led to Gareth Davies dancing his way over on the blindside.

Another blistering counter, littered with some great off-loading saw the gargantuan Kalamafoni stretch over for the bonus-point score, then the dangerous Conbeer provided the finishing touch after Glasgow had spilled possession inside their own half.

Evans and replacement fly-half Sam Costelow added further conversions to Patchell's three from three.

The win, Scarlets’ fourth in the URC this season, provided the perfect tonic before the squad flies out to South Africa on Sunday ahead of matches against Cell C Sharks and the Vodacom Bulls.
