Scarlets back Elis Price returns to the starting XV as Wales face Italy in the seventh-place final in the World Rugby U20 Championship at Stadio Mario Battaglini in Rovigo on Saturday (KO 2.30pm).
Price gets the nod at inside centre, coming in for Steffan Emmanuel, while fellow Scarlet Harry Thomas is named among the replacements and is set for his 17th appearance at this level.
Wales will be looking to bounce back and finish the championship with a flourish after losing to England in the last round of games.
“Even at halftime 17-13 down we were right in the game against England playing well but in the second half we didn’t have a foothold in the game to try and put our game on them, they strangled us really,” said head coach Richard Whiffin.
“We have had to recover quickly and reassess for our final game against Italy. We will have to be wary as they have shown what they can do at this level in recent times and they have always proved formidable in the Six Nations.
“Saying that, the boys want to finish strongly and they fully deserve to after the work they have put in out here, for little reward.”
