Scarlets begin their pre-season campaign on Saturday when they take on Super Rygbi Cymru sides Llandovery and Carmarthen Quins at Llandovery’s Church Bank.

The match, which kicks off at 4pm, will see the Scarlets take on the Drovers for 40 minutes and then the Quins for 40 minutes.

Ioan Nicholas (pictured) will skipper a 27-man squad that includes summer signings Joe Hawkins, Tristan Davies, Dane Blacker and Ioan Jones as well as a host of the club’s young talent.

Jac Davies, who has starred for the Drovers in recent SRC seasons, starts at full-back, with Tomi Lewis and Wales international Ellis Mee taking up the wing spots.

Nicholas partners Gabe McDonald in midfield, while Hawkins wears the No. 10 jersey, linking up with Blacker at half-back.

Up front, Wales international tight-head prop Harri O’Connor is set for his first appearance since tearing his Achilles against Saracens last September.

O’Connor will pack down alongside Kemsley Mathias and Wales U20s hooker Harry Thomas.

Tristan Davies partners Jac Price in the second row, while former Scarlets U18s captain Osian Williams is named in a back row that also contains openside Dan Davis and Jarrod Taylor, who wears the No. 8 jersey.

The bench includes prop Josh Morse and back-rower Ben Williams, who have both recovered from long-term injuries as well as lock Dan Gemine, who is on permit from Llandovery and hooker Saul Hurley, on permit from Aberavon.

Before the game, Llandovery College will take on traditional rivals Millfield School on the 3G pitch, kicking off at 1pm.

Entry to the game is £5 for adults and FREE for children.
