The Turnover Kings of the URC go head to head when Scarlets clash with Cardiff in the big West v East showdown at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday, April 18.

The latest statistics after 14 rounds of the competition have the Scarlets with the most team turnovers of any side with 103 (7.4 per game average), followed closely in second by the capital side with 100 (7.1 average).

Hooker Marnus van der Merwe is the leading Scarlets player with 14 to his name, placing him third on the turnover roster, with skipper Josh Macleod joint fifth with 12 and Jarrod Taylor (10) just outside the top 10.

In the blue and black corner, Scarlets academy product Dan Thomas is enjoying another impressive season at the Arms Park and sits second with 15 turnovers to his name in 2025-26.

With four rounds to go with, the URC is turning the spotlight on the individuals and teams who have defined this campaign.

A total of 10 individual prizes and one club award are up for grabs at the end of the season, alongside coveted places in the Elite XV, showcasing the ultimate team of the year.

Some awards are powered by cutting-edge URC StatMaster data, while others are decided by a panel of expert media representatives. Fans also get their say, voting for the Try of the Season powered by URC.tv, while coaches, captains and vice-captains choose the BKT Coach of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season.

Back for a second season, the Playmaker Award celebrates the visionaries who shape the game with creativity, adaptability and composure under pressure. The season’s Innovation Award returns, alongside the South African Vodacom URC Player of the Season, part of the annual SA Rugby Awards. Classic honours like the Gilbert Golden Boot, Ironman, OFX Top Try Scorer, IPVanish Tackle Machine and the Next-Gen Player of the Season round out the competition.

The standout Scarlet figure among the stats is No. 8 Fletcher Anderson, who is in the top 10 in four categories – a remarkable achievement considering he didn’t arrive in West Wales until after the opening four-match block.

Fletcher is joint third in the league for carries made (166), is top of the stats charts for defenders beaten (45), fifth for gainline carries (68) and fifth for tackles completed (165).

In the race to the be the league’s top try-scorer, centre Joe Roberts, with four in his last three games, is joint third with seven; Max Douglas is second (60) for line-outs won on own throw and joint third for line-out steals won, while 18-year-old Carwyn Leggatt-Jones is joint fourth in the try assists table with five to his name.
