We would be delighted to hear your views on the future rugby landscape in Wales and in particular the role that Scarlets rugby and Parc y Scarlets plays within that. All views gathered here will be compiled and forwarded to the WRU at the end of the consultation period (26 September 2025) to provide a full picture from our community and to ensure all voices are heard. We believe everyone in our rugby eco-system should have the opportunity to have their say. Scarlets anchor elite rugby, talent development and cultural identity across West Wales. The club is also a driver for community and economic growth. It is a heartland rugby region with rich history and purpose. The WRU consultation and the impact of its proposed ‘optimal solution’ goes far beyond a discussion about the professional game. As a proven high-performance club, Scarlets holds firm that its successes in the past, present and future should be safe-guarded and maintained for the good of Welsh rugby. NextThe WRU have been clear that they believe the current Welsh elite rugby system is no longer achieving its aims. They have proposed a two club professional structure. Scarlets is a pillar of Welsh Rugby with an unrivalled and rich 153-year history, heritage, cultural resonance and brand that continues to contribute every season to international rugby and as the flag-bearers for Welsh Rugby in Europe. Scarlets are the only Welsh club in the Investec Champions Cup in the coming 2025/6 season. Scarlets is a proven high-performance club, a major community provider and a year-round economic asset via its world-class dedicated rugby stadium and community facility Parc y Scarlets. Losing Scarlets would damage the WRU’s player pathway, hollow out a heartland fan base, harm its hometown of Llanelli and the West Wales economy – all for limited strategic upside.
