Scarlets speedsters Blair Murray and Tom Rogers have been named in Steve Tandy’s first Wales starting XV for Sunday’s Quilter Nations Series opener with Argentina at the Principality Stadium (KO 3.10pm; TNT Sports, discovery+ and S4C).

Blair has been an ever-present in the national side since bursting onto the Welsh rugby scene at Parc y Scarlets last autumn and will again wear the No.15 jersey.

Tom continues in the wing spot, as he did on the summer tour of Japan and will win his 12th cap in Cardiff.

In all, Tandy has made seven personnel changes from the side that ended an 18-match losing run out in Japan in the summer.

Jac Morgan, who was on Lions duty in Australia, is back to captain the side, while there are recalls for prop Rhys Carré, scrum-half Tomos Williams  – another 2025 Lion – and second row Dafydd Jenkins, among others.

Bristol flyer Louis Rees-Zammit makes a swift return to the match-day 23 and is named among the replacements, as is Leicester back-rower Olly Cracknell, who will make his Test debut if he comes off the bench.

Tandy said: “It’s a real privilege to announce my first match day 23 for Wales. I just want to see that 23 really go out there and express themselves on Sunday and enjoy every moment of representing the country in such a unique and special jersey.”
