Pupils from Bryngwyn School have been taking part in a Dragons Den-style skills challenge to design items that will be sold in the club shop at Parc y Scarlets.
Scarlets staff members were honoured to be invited to participate in the recent Welsh Baccalaureate Skills Challenge Enterprise event at the Llanelli school
The students, who had been diligently working on producing sellable products, had the opportunity to present their business proposals to a judging panel.
The winning teams, whose ideas included a beanie hat, polo shirt, phone case and darts flights, were then invited to join our new retail partner VX3 at their office at Parc y Scarlets to see how their designs will be brought to life. They also met members of the Scarlets squad for a photo.
Skills Challenge Coordinator Eleanor Bozkurt said: “The Scarlets’ roles as part of our panel brought a sense of real-world experience and professionalism that truly enriched the day for our pupils.
“Our students worked hard to prepare their product ideas, and the sense of competition gave them real motivation to succeed. The panel’s thoughtful questions and feedback helped to challenge their thinking and build their confidence in communicating ideas effectively.
“We hope the Scarlets enjoyed the day as much as we did, and we are incredibly grateful for the support provided to our young entrepreneurs.”
Paul Fisher, Scarlets Community Foundation Manager, added: “We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to take part in Bryngwyn’s Welsh Baccalaureate Skills Challenge.
“It was a privilege to see all the work that had gone into producing thorough business plans to sell products at Parc y Scarlets.
“We wish all the pupils well in the future and will no doubt see some of these products on the shelves in the very near future!”
