Budding young Scarlets stars shine at summer camp

Rob Lloyd News

The Juno Moneta Arena at Parc y Scarlets has been a sea of red this week with around a 100 budding rugby players showing off their skills at a two-day summer camp.

The youngsters, aged six to 11 years old, have enjoyed a wide variety of rugby activities, developing their talent under the guidance of experienced Scarlets skills coaches.

There were plenty of tries and tackles as well as the opportunity to meet some of the Scarlets’ Wales U20 stars, with Ryan Conbeer, Morgan Jones, Tomi Lewis and Jac Price signing autographs and having their pictures taken with the youngsters.

Chris Jones, Scarlets community co-ordinator said: “It’s been fantastic to see so many smiling young players enjoying the skills sessions. Both girls and boys have been developing their rugby talent with some of our experienced coaches whilst enjoying a healthy lifestyle.

“Tomorrow, the Scarlets Community are looking forward to hosting a girls only rugby camp at Parc y Scarlets and next week skills sessions will be hosted at the Aberystwyth, Tenby and Fishguard camps.”
