WRU Women’s Regional Championship kicks off this Saturday 10th of August with the Scarlets Ladies being welcomed by Blues Womens at Llandarcy Academy of Sport, KO: 12noon.

Ladies will be led out by the Wales international Alex Callender, the team also welcomes back the vastly experiences Sioned Harries at No 8, with fellow Wales internationals Lleucu George in the centre and Back row forward Bethan Lewis, who will make her return to the region from the bench. The return of these experienced women will give the squad an extra boost on Saturday as the combination of youth and experience in the Scarlets squad creates an exciting looking team to take on what will be a formidable Blues team.

Explained Head Coach, Daryl Morgan. “We’ve had a really positive week’s training after what was a very encouraging display by the squad at the Regional Super 12s in Llandovery last weekend. The young squad we took to Llandovery put in some great performances, and having Alex, Sioned, Lleucu and Beth back in the group is a massive boost to the team.

The Blues are going to present a major challenge to the squad, but I’ve got every confidence in the players. I really think they’re going to surprise a few people.”
