Dane Blacker to leave Scarlets at end of the season

Scarlets can confirm that Dane Blacker will leave the Scarlets at the end of the season to join Dragons RFC.

The scrum-half has played 55 matches since arriving in Llanelli in 2019, scoring 15 tries and earning his place in the Wales squad for the 2022 Autumn Nations Series.

Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel said: “We wish Dane well with his move to the Dragons. He has been a popular member of the squad here at the Scarlets and the competition for the nine jersey alongside Wales internationals Gareth Davies and Kieran Hardy has driven the standards of all three, as well as the two Wales U20s scrum-halves, Archie Hughes and Harri Williams, we have coming through.

“During his four years here he has developed into a player who is now in contention for the national squad and he still has a big part to play for us during an exciting end to the season.”

Dane Blacker said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Scarlets for all their support and backing throughout my time in West Wales, especially the fans who have been incredible during my time at the club.

“We have a few big games left and I’m looking forward to being a part of a strong finish to this season!”
