Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel has issued a squad update ahead of Friday’s resumption of BKT United Rugby Championship action in Glasgow.
Peel has revealed that Tonga international Vaea Fifita, who picked up a knee injury in the opening game of the season against Benetton, is back in full training and available for selection, while Wales international centre Joe Roberts (knee) is set to return in the opening rounds of European matches in December.
In terms of the players who featured during the Autumn Nations Series, Tom Rogers is ruled out with a calf injury.
Fly-half Sam Costelow will also sit out this weekend’s game as he goes through his return-to-play protocols following a head knock playing against South Africa.
Peel told the media: “Vaea is back in training and is available and it’s pleasing for us to have some of our long-term injuries, the likes of Joe Roberts, back and probably a week or two away. Those boys have worked hard to get themselves back and are looking good in training. Hopefully we will see Joe during the European block.
On his Wales international contingent, Peel added: “The international boys who are fit are all available. Sam is going through HIA return-to-play protocols, Tommy isn’t right with his calf, but it is not a long-term issue, the rest are available.”
