A special festive celebration will be held for Scarlets’ former players as they reunite at Parc y Scarlets to lend their support and add to the growing excitement for the next home game against Black Lion in the EPCR Challenge Cup.

With just 30 days to go until Scarlets’ festive fixture against the Georgian side on Sunday, December 15, behind-the-scenes planning is well under way as Parc y Scarlets prepares to bring a joyful festive theme for our supporters to enjoy.

As part of the match day activities, Scarlets will be honoured to welcome back a host of former players at its second event of the season to celebrate their contribution to the famous jersey and to connect former players with the current squad as the club looks to the future.

The reception will be hosted by former Wales international, Scarlets Board Member and Gower MP Tonia Antoniazzi and Scarlets President Derek Quinnell, who have highlighted the importance of maintaining close links between those who have represented the club over the years and today’s Scarlets community.

Signing into a new home season at Parc y Scarlets and showing their support at the last event in September were the likes of Colin Stephens, Rupert Moon, Nigel Davies, Gareth Jenkins, Leigh Davies, Barry Davies, Gareth Bowen, Aaron Shingler, Johnathan  Edwards, Roy Bergiers and Derek Quinnell.

Scarlets Board member Tonia Antoniazzi said: “It is wonderful and a huge privilege to bring together some of the great players who have won the Scarlets jersey with pride and passion and we are delighted to welcome back more greats of our club for a festive reunion at the Black Lion game in December.

“To see legends of our game from all eras linking up together to share stories and views on the way forward for this club was inspiring. Scarlets rugby has been at the heart of my family and my upbringing and it was that love and passion for this club that led me to play for Wales.

“It is important to us all as Scarlets supporters that we celebrate our huge heritage and keep it alive as a club as we recognise and respect our past successes as well as look to the future with optimism.”

The former players event will be generously supported by Scarlets’ title sponsor Gareth Griffiths Group and Felinfoel Brewery.
