Johnny Williams disciplinary update

Following the earlier decision of an independent Disciplinary Committee, further details of Johnny Williams’ (Scarlets) six-week suspension for a dangerous tackle in contravention of Law 9.13 can now be confirmed. 

Williams would have been considered for selection for the following matches: EPCR Challenge Cup – Scarlets v Edinburgh Rugby, Friday 19 January; Guinness Six Nations – Wales v Scotland, Saturday 3 February; Guinness Six Nations – England v Wales, Saturday 10 February; Friendly – Exeter Chiefs v Scarlets, Saturday 10 February; Guinness Six Nations – Ireland v Wales, Saturday 24 February; URC – Scarlets v Connacht Rugby, Saturday 2 March.

Therefore, he is free to play on Monday, 4 March, however, if he applies for and successfully completes a World Rugby Coaching Intervention, he will be free to play on Monday, 26 February.
