Scarlets can confirm that Head of Physical Performance, Nigel Ashley-Jones, is to join the Australian coaching team ahead of this year’s Rugby World Cup.

Ashley-Jones joined the Scarlets in the summer of 2021 in a move from NRL side Canberra Raiders.

After two years in Llanelli, he has returned home to Australia to link up with Eddie Jones’s Wallabies coaching team as Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Scarlets Head Coach Dwayne Peel said: “Nige has made a big impact on everyone in the two years he has been at the club. He has an exciting opportunity to be part of an international coaching set-up with his home country in a World Cup year. Everyone at the Scarlets wishes him well.”

Scarlets will announce the make-up of their coaching team for the 2023-24 season in the coming weeks.
