Sam’s the man for Jenkins Bakery

The award-winning Jenkins Bakery has served up support to one of Welsh rugby’s brightest young talents by becoming the player sponsor of Scarlets fly-half Sam Costelow.

The Jenkins family bakery is this year celebrating its centenary.

Established in 1921 as a family business in Llanelli, the Jenkins Bakery remains a much-loved part of the community in west Wales.

The Jenkins Bakery family has a long tradition of supporting the Scarlets, dating back to the old Stradey Park days.

Sam, 20, who was signed from Leicester Tigers in the summer, has made a big impression in his first season at the Scarlets.

Jenkins Bakery operations director Russell Jenkins said: “We are delighted to be the player sponsor of Sam Costelow, a player with a very bright future.

“Although we are a business with shops throughout south Wales, our roots are firmly in Llanelli.

“The Jenkins Bakery name has been associated with the Scarlets for many years and we are delighted to play our part in the current campaign with our support for Sam Costelow.

“The Jenkins Bakery name is proudly displayed in the Parc y Scarlets stadium. We are delighted to support the Scarlets and wish Sam and the team all the best for the season.”

Scarlets head of commercial James Bibby said: “Jenkins embodies everything we stand for at the Scarlets. They are a proud local family business with deep roots in the community and are based on strong values and heritage.

“Jenkins are long-term friends of the Scarlets as well as grassroots sports in Llanelli and west Wales and it is fantastic that they are supporting one of our many young talents as a player sponsor. We look forward to welcoming the Jenkins family and staff back to Parc y Scarlets when it is safe to do so.”
