Scarlets have unveiled their new third kit for the 2026-27 season, with the jersey drawing inspiration from one of the earliest kits worn in the club’s history.
The new strip will make its competitive debut when Scarlets face Stephen Jones’s Newcastle Red Bulls in the opening round of the EPCR Challenge Cup, Saturday October 17.
The design takes the club back to its roots, with the new kit inspired by a jersey worn by the club in 1881.
That original 19th-century kit is recorded in the history books as being rose and primrose in colour, providing the inspiration for the latest Scarlets design.
For the modern interpretation, the traditional colours have been reimagined as birch and claret, while a distinctive pink dragon scale pattern features across the front of the jersey.
The pink detailing is a nod to the rose element of the original 1881 kit, bringing an important piece of Scarlets history into a contemporary design.
The result is a third kit that combines the club’s historic identity with a modern aesthetic, celebrating Scarlets’ long-standing heritage while looking firmly towards the new season and the future.
