Scarlets are delighted to be continuing their partnership with Aberystwyth University, having both recently celebrated our 150-year anniversaries.

Aberystwyth University are again a proud kit partner for the 2023-24 season with their logo on the home and away shorts. There is also an advertising board at the stadium at Parc y Scarlets.

In April, as part of the 150-year celebrations, Scarlets joined Aberystwyth University for a special charity dinner that raised more than £7,000 for the Phil Bennett Foundation and Bronglais Chemotherapy Day Unit.

As part of the partnership, the University also hosted the Scarlets squad and rugby staff over the summer for a training camp, where the team prepared for the season at the outstanding sports facilities and stayed on campus.

Wales international prop and British & Irish Lion Wyn Jones is a former student at Aberystwyth and will again be sponsored by the University this season.

Professor Tim Woods, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Learning, Teaching and Student Experience at Aberystwyth University, said: “We are delighted to renew our association with the Scarlets as a kit partner, as well as sponsor of our graduate and Welsh international player Wyn Jones.

“Wyn is the latest in a long tradition of Aberystwyth University alumni who have played and coached at the highest level, amongst them the great Carwyn James and John Dawes, coach and captain respectively of the successful Lions tour to New Zealand in 1971, and it was a pleasure to mark our respective 150 anniversaries together earlier this year.

“We are a University deeply rooted in our community and our sponsorship for the Scarlets reflects our support for the game at local level where the next generation of players develop their skills, both on and off the pitch.”

Scarlets Head of Commercial Garan Evans said: “We have a long association with Aberystwyth University and are thrilled to be continuing our partnership into the new season and beyond.

“I know Dwayne and the squad thoroughly enjoyed their training camp in Aber over the summer. The University were wonderful hosts and the facilities available for elite sport were fantastic.

“We are proud to have both reached our 150-year milestone and look forward to many more years at the heart of our West Wales community.”
