Scarlets fans called on to support Tonga fundraising efforts

Rob Lloyd News

Supporters attending today’s match against Bristol Bears are being urged to support a fundraising appeal to aid the communities impacted by the Tsunami in Tonga.

Fans can donate their £1 deposit for match-day Eco-Cups, with all cash raised going towards the Friends of Tonga charity https://www.friendsoftonga.org/ which is helping the support effort in the wake of the disaster.

There will also be a collection in the Parc y Scarlets’ hospitality lounges before the game.

Scarlets have close connections with Tonga through current internationals Sione Kalamafoni and Sam Lousi, as well as Wales U20s back-rower Carwyn Tuipulotu, whose father Kati was capped for Tonga.

Bristol Bears star Charles Piuatua, named in the Bears side to face the Scarlets today,  is one of the high-profile players supporting the effort.
