Scarlets join forces with BT and the Community for Food Bank Appeal

Rob Lloyd News

Cochyn, Scarlets great Phil Bennett and a band of helpers took to the road this week to help drop off donations to a local food bank in Llanelli.

In association with BT, the Scarlets have been asking people to donate what they can over this festive period by setting up multiple drop-off locations at the BT Tower in Swansea, EE Merthyr, Parc y Scarlets and schools across the town.

Owens Group joined the cause by offering up one of their lorries which stopped off at Coedcae School, Ty Elwyn Council Offices, Coleshill School, Ysgol y Strade, Ysgol Glan y Mor, Bryngwyn School and Machynys Golf Club.

Also flying the Scarlets flag was Garan Evans, our former player and now key account manager, members of the Scarlets commercial and marketing teams as well as members of our supporters trust Crys 16.

With councillor Rob Evans helping organise the pick-up points the day proved a huge success with all donations dropped off at Myrtle House Food Bank in Llanelli.

Scarlets also donated several pairs of tickets for their upcoming games to give out to those less fortunate families to help make it an extra special Christmas.
