Scarlets send their condolences to family, friends and all at Cardiff Rugby following the passing of Life President Peter Thomas at the age of 79.
Peter was a hugely influential and respected figure in Welsh rugby and had an association with Cardiff, initially as a player and then as patron and chairman, for more than six decades.
Paying tribute on behalf of the Scarlets, Executive Chairman Simon Muderack said: “Peter’s contribution to Cardiff Rugby and Welsh rugby as a whole is immeasurable.
“Despite the on-field rivalry, Peter’s ultimate goal for Cardiff was the same as Scarlets – to maintain, grow and hand on the legacy of a great club
“A real gentleman, it was a privilege to be in his company when our two sides played each other and I speak for everyone at Scarlets Rugby in sending our sincere condolences to Peter’s family, friends and everyone at Cardiff at this sad time.”
