Rob LloydAcademy News

The second block of the WRU Academies Championship kicks off on Sunday with Scarlets U18s hosting RGC at Llandovery RFC (14:30 ko).

Back-rower Jac Cloke leads a strong side going in search of their first win of the campaign. The spoils were shared 33-33 in the meeting in North Wales in August.

The Scarlets squad includes two players, Ysgol y Strade and Burry Port RFC’s Ifan Gravell-Jones and Ryan Lanfear, who were part of the Llanelli Schoolboys squad that reached the final of the Dewar Shield.

Head coach Tom Phillips will hope his side can gain momentum before their remaining games against Cardiff (Jan 25, Arms Park), Dragons (Feb 1, Llandovery) and Ospreys (Feb 8, The Gnoll) over the coming weeks.
