Scarlets Rugby have welcomed the signing of the new Professional Rugby Agreement (PRA25) as an important step in providing the stability needed to support the club’s long-term ambitions on and off the field.

A united vision for the future of rugby in west Wales continues with the backing of supporters, stakeholders and civic partners in the region including Carmarthenshire County Council and cross-party support amongst the region’s MPs and Members of the Senedd.

That progress has included the appointment of Nigel Davies as Director of Rugby who has led a comprehensive review of the rugby department; the recruitment and retention of 15 players ahead of the new season with more to announce, continued investment in the academy and player pathway and the implementation of a new high-performance structure.

Off the field, the club has secured significant new investment, maintained disciplined financial management, recorded a 7.1 per cent increase in attendances at Parc y Scarlets, grown season ticket revenues and expanded its community reach, engaging more than 40,000 people across Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion during the 2025-26 season.

Scarlets Executive Chairman Simon Muderack said: “Signing the PRA25 is another milestone as we build the next chapter in Scarlets’ proud 150-year history.

“There is genuine momentum around the Scarlets. Backed by our supporters, partners and investors, we believe the club is well placed to help shape the future of Welsh rugby.”

For more than 150 years, the Scarlets have stood at the heart of rugby in West Wales, producing generations of Welsh internationals, British & Irish Lions, coaches and rugby leaders while proudly representing the communities, culture and Welsh language of the region.

Today, the club’s influence extends far beyond the professional game. Parc y Scarlets has become one of Wales’ leading sporting venues and a year-round hub for elite sport, education, business, health and community activity, generating more than £17 million of economic and social value for West Wales each year.

The Scarlets continue to invest in developing the next generation of Welsh talent through a fully aligned academy and player pathway while strengthening partnerships across education, local government, business and the voluntary sector.

The club’s community programmes delivered more than 450 sessions, festivals, camps and events during the past year, working with 45 education partners, supporting 40 community organisations and generating more than 1,000 hours of positive community activity across the region.

The Scarlets are looking forward to welcoming supporters back to Parc y Scarlets for the opening home fixture of the 2026-27 BKT United Rugby Championship season on Saturday September 26 (kick off 7.35pm) against Cardiff Rugby.
