Vote for your Castore Player of the Month for April

Rob Lloyd News

It’s the final time of the season to vote for your Castore Scarlets Supporters Player of the Month.

It’s been an April of thrilling highs and heartbreaking lows, starting with the stunning European Challenge Cup win over Clermont Auvergne at Parc y Scarlets, followed by defeats to Glasgow in the URC, Dragons on Judgement Day and Glasgow in a pulsating semi-final in front of a bumper 13,077 crowd.

The monthly winners so far are Sione Kalamafoni, Dane Blacker, Dan Davis and Vaea Fifita.

Here are the contenders for the April prize.

Josh Macleod

The skipper has led by example, starting all four matches this month. Has been outstanding at the breakdown, claiming three turnovers against the Warriors last weekend and also led the tackle count in the same game. Deservedly named in Wales’ World Cup training squad this week.

Sam Costelow

Player of the match in the gripping late win over Clermont, Costy has continued to enhance his reputation and has been rewarded with a place in Warren Gatland’s provisional World Cup squad. Who can forget that late conversion against the French giants?

Steff Evans

His try against Warriors on Saturday was his 12th this season and only Glasgow hooker Johnny Mathews has scored more in the Challenge Cup this term. Busy, alert and always looking for work, Steff has been a threat throughout the campaign.

Joe Roberts

Has enjoyed a breakthrough season which he finished with an impressive showing in the semi-final defeat at Parc y Scarlets. The 22-year-old continues to look at home at this level, earning a first Wales call-up in the process.
