Archer made a rapid rise through the ranks in Australia, his powerful scrummaging performances in the semi-professional Shute Shield earning him a contract with Super Rugby side the Brumbies. The tight-head joined the Waratahs where he was capped by Australia A in the Pacific Nations Cup in 2022 and after a spell in the Top 14 with French giants La Rochelle, returned to the Waratahs only for a shoulder injury to rule him out for the campaign. Joined the Scarlets in November 2024 and the man from Lightning Ridge has showcased his scrummaging prowess in Europe and the URC, earning a player-of-the-match medal for his performance against Zebre last season.
