Carmarthen Quins produced another late show in the latest round of Super Rygbi Cymru, with Academy fly-half Elis Price landing a match-winning kick to secure the points.
Not for the first time this season, the young 10 held his nerve from the tee, converting wing Thomas Williams’s try from the touchline in the 16th minute of stoppage time as Quins came from behind to beat defending champions Newport 28-26 in dramatic fashion.
Academy centre Gabe McDonald and hooker Isaac Young touched down for tries in Quins, while fly-half Carwyn Leggatt-Jones, making his first senior start in Carmarthen colours, landed three conversions.
Llandovery were beaten in their top-of-the-table clash at Ebbw Vale in front of the S4C cameras on Thursday night.
Former Scarlets U18s skipper Tiaan Sparrow was on the scoresheet for the Drovers, as was senior wing Tomi Lewis, but it was the Steelmen who finished strongly to claim a 40-22 victory.
Josh Morse, Gabe Hawley, Dylan Alford (pictured below) and Jac Davies started for Llandovery, with Tiaan and lock Kai Jones replacements.

In the WRU Premiership, centre Gryff Watkins crossed twice for Llanelli Wanderers in their 33-26 loss at Beddau. Prop Tom Phillips and lock Sam Williams also started for the Wanderers. Prop Jac Pritchard came off the bench for Narberth in their home win over Cardiff Met.
In the Championship, hooker Keanu Evans scored one of Ammanford’s four tries in their win at Glynneath, while Steff Jac Jones wore the No. 10 jersey for home town club Aberystwyth in their home loss to Bonymaen.
