Carmarthenshire clubs enjoyed a clean sweep of victories on a sun-kissed Scarlets Cup Finals Day at the Parc.

More than a thousand supporters attended the day which saw the best of Carmarthenshire take on the cream of Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion in five age-grade matches at the home of the Scarlets.

An impressive Amman United enjoyed the double at U16s and U15s, seeing off the challenge of Tenby United in both matches.

At U14s, Burry Port proved too strong for a spirited Haverfordwest outfit.

Next up was Carmarthen Quins U13s against Haverfordwest and it was the young Quins who emerged winners.

The final match of the day saw Carmarthen Athletic U12s take on Pembroke, with the Athletic youngsters tasting glory.

A big thanks to our officials Haydn Bennett, Emyr Thomas, Rhys Andrews, Rhodri Morgans and Dafydd Jones as well as Scarlets players Steff Evans, Sam Lousi and Joe Roberts who presented the medals and trophies.

Scarlets Community Foundation Manager Paul Fisher said: “It was a fantastic experience for the young men to come here and play at Parc y Scarlets and great for families, coaches, volunteers and our officials as well. It was a successful day across the board with brilliant support and everyone buying into the Scarlets way and Scarlets family. There were some great tries scored and it is exciting to see what is in the pipeline for future years.

“It highlights how important community clubs and grassroots rugby is for us at the Scarlets and I think it is important also to mention all the clubs who have competed in this competition across the region in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.”
