CK’s get right behind the Scarlets

Kieran Lewis News

We’re pleased to confirm that CK Foodstores have extended their partnership with the Scarlets ahead of the 2018-19 season.

CK Foodstores have been supporters of the Scarlets for many years with the company logo appearing on the back of both home and away shorts for the last 3 years.

With fourteen stores in the Scarlets region the company, which is shortly to celebrate 30 years of trading, was founded in 1988 in Llandeilo when Managing Director Christopher Kiley acquired a small store offering a much needed modern supermarket with an in-store bakery, butchery department and emphasis on fresh produce sourced locally.

A further two stores were opened in the region, at Pontyberem and Newcastle Emlyn, before the company branched further East into the Swansea area (Penclawdd).

As a company constantly striving to improve the business, to meet customer needs and keep pace with an ever-changing retail market a large warehouse and head office location was acquired in Llanelli, officially opening in 2000.

Nathan Brew, Head of Commercial at the Scarlets, said; “CK’s have been a mainstay on the kit for the last few years and we’re delighted to see them extended their partnership with us.

“Like many of our sponsors, CK’s is a company that has its roots firmly in West Wales with the community at the heart of their strategies. We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with CK’s over the coming seasons.”

The local, independent food retailer proudly works alongside local producers to ensure the stores stock the freshest and most locally sourced produce for its communities, many of which are also a part of the Scarlets family.

Alun Littlejohns, CK Foodstores Operations Director, added; “We’ve long since identified that many of our customers are big fans of the Scarlets, and are quick to engage with Scarlets related promotions, both in store & on line. So keen are we to highlight our links to the team, we’ve started a public poll to name 6 of our lorries after famous Scarlets, past & present!”
