Embracing Cymru: A grand Welsh celebration at Scarlets v Ulster

Rob LloydNews

With St Dwynwen’s Day fast approaching, a day to honour the Welsh patron saint of lovers, we are gearing up to celebrate our Welshness at the Scarlets v Ulster next week!

Parc y Scarlets will host a celebration of Wales’s heart, heritage and identity. The Scarlets v Ulster match on January 24, 2026 (15:00, BKT United Rugby Championship) promises to be a showcase of Welsh pride, bringing together fans from across the country to honour culture, history, and community.

The Ulster fixture will be a ‘Dathlu’n Cymreictod’ day. A day to spotlight everything that makes Welsh identity unique: the language, the music, the stories, the arts, the communities, and of course, the passion for rugby.

We’ll be working with Menter Cwm Gwendraeth Elli, a charity promoting the Welsh language in Llanelli and the Gwendraeth Valley area, to ensure a day of fantastic music and activities for the whole family.

Up and coming Welsh Bands Y Goleuni, Merched Becca, and Alys a’r Tri Gwr Doeth will play pre and post match in the Tanner Banc Bar, so come along for a great day out!

Scarlets v Ulster, Saturday 24th January kick-off 15:00, tickets are available here
