Scarlets Executive chairman Simon Muderack said: “These senior leadership appointments will help us meet the challenges we face now and in the future both on and off the field.

“There is a lot of work to do which is vital to our future development, sustainability and long-term success. These appointments will bring leadership and knowledge that will intensify our focus and performance to align our rugby business and strengthen a very committed and hard-working team at Parc y Scarlets.

“We have to adapt to this changing and demanding rugby landscape, and our values and heritage as a club continues to be at the core of our decisions.

“Scarlets has always had a strong rugby ethos of identifying, nurturing and developing its own players and we are seeing an exciting batch of young players coming through right now, and investing in performance and development will help accelerate their growth and that of others in the future.

On the new roles in Rugby at Scarlets he added: “It’s not just about waiting for Dwayne and his team to deliver a result at the weekend – it’s about everything that underpins and supports that, creating the best performance framework and identifying and nurturing new talent. The new Rugby Performance Director and Head of Development Pathway will lead and direct that infrastructure which will give Dwayne more time and focus to direct coaching and the first-team rugby environment.

“We are committed to maximising our potential on and off the field for the good of our Scarlets community and region. We have great people connected to this club, a strong set of values from a rich rugby history and world-class rugby and community facilities here at Parc y Scarlets.”

Simon Muderack who joined the Scarlets Board as Executive Chairman in September 2020 added: “We are delighted that Jon (Daniels) becomes our Managing Director. Jon is a trusted leader in our business, he has an immense and unique depth of knowledge across professional rugby operations both on and off the field and has time and again shown his commitment and passion for our region in West Wales – putting Scarlets at the heart of its community.

“Phillip Morgan’s expertise in governance and financial strategy will continue to be crucial to us during these times of change and transition in Welsh rugby. It is of great benefit and value to Scarlets to have someone of Phil’s experience and knowledge focusing on this vital area in our business.

“I would also like to express gratitude to our Scarlets Board, who continue to be unwavering in their support and commitment to this club throughout some of its most challenging times.

“We are lucky to have the strategic input and leadership of a group who have so much history, knowledge and belief in Scarlets. With a long-term vision for our region, they fully understand the twists and turns of supporting rugby in Wales.

“Our biggest thanks goes to our loyal Scarlets supporters, partners and stakeholders who are the backbone of our club and who show the same commitment, fight, determination and desire for Scarlets rugby success that our team do and that this famous rugby club is known for.”
