The FSG Arena at Parc y Scarlets will host a special celebration of grassroots girls’ rugby on Friday, March 20, as under-8 and under-10 teams from across the region come together for a pre-match festival ahead of the United Rugby Championship game between Scarlets and Zebre Parma.
The event aims to inspire the next generation of female players and will kick-off a special Ladies Day event at Parc y Scarlets.
Dozens of young players are expected to take part, representing the growing strength and enthusiasm for girls’ rugby in west Wales.
A festival focused on fun, friendship and development
The pre-match festival will take place in the FSG Arena, where players will enjoy a series of games designed to promote confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment of the sport.
Paul Fisher, Scarlets Community Foundation Manager said; “The growth of girls’ rugby in our region has been incredible.
“Events like these allow young players to build friendships, develop their skills, and feel part of the wider Scarlets family.”
A big-match atmosphere
Following the festival, the young players and their families will head into the stadium to watch the Scarlets face Zebre in what promises to be an exciting URC fixture under the Friday-night lights.
Under-12 and under-14 girls teams are invited to register to play half time TAG, with under-16s girls invited to be guard of honour.
Parents, coaches, and supporters are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the full festival atmosphere, with gates opening well ahead of match time.
