The Scarlets Foundation enjoyed a successful October half-term, with its community team travelling across the three counties of the Scarlets region to deliver its popular Fit, Fed and Fun camps, providing children opportunities to stay active, enjoy healthy food and have fun during the school holidays.
More than 250 children attended nine Fit, Fed and Fun camps across the region, with sessions held in Ammanford, Cardigan, Burry Port, Llandybie, Newcastle Emlyn, Felinfoel, Fishguard, Milford Haven and Pembroke.
The Foundation also welcomed 60 children to a special Scarlets camp at Parc y Scarlets, where they enjoyed a stadium tour alongside their rugby activities. A further 20 youngsters from Pembrokeshire attended a camp at Tenby RFC, extending the Foundation’s reach into local communities.
In conjunction with our community commercial partners Dunbia, HCR Law and Blas y Tir, the programme’s success was made possible through collaboration with active and sports teams from our local authorities, alongside a range of community organisations, all working together to create positive experiences for young people.
Scarlets Foundation Community Manager Paul Fisher said: “We are delighted with the success of our October half-term camps and the opportunity to reach so many children across our region. Our Fit, Fed and Fun programme is about more than keeping children active during the holidays; it’s about creating welcoming environments where they can have fun, enjoy nutritious food, build friendships and feel part of their local community.
“We are incredibly grateful to our local authority teams, clubs, partners, organisations and Scarlets Community Staff who have helped make these camps possible. Their support allows us to continue making a positive difference to children and families across the Scarlets region.”
