Injury update: Tomi Lewis

Following medical assessment, it has been confirmed that Scarlets wing Tomi Lewis has ruptured his Achilles tendon and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Tomi picked up the injury in the second half of last weekend’s Judgement Day win over the Dragons. He will undergo surgery this week and is expected to be out of action for around nine months.

Speaking after Saturday’s game, Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel said: “I am gutted for Tomi. He was excellent against the Dragons and I said to our analyst on about 45 minutes ‘Tomi is playing himself on the tour here’. But the future is bright for him and he will come back stronger.”
