Scarlets can confirm that Ioan Lloyd will join Cardiff Rugby this summer after two seasons at the club.
Signed from Bristol Bears in 2023 Ioan has played 38 matches in all, scoring 221 points, including three tries.
Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel said: “It is obviously disappointing to lose a player of Ioan’s calibre, but we respect his decision to move home to Cardiff for a new challenge and he will leave with the best wishes of everyone here at the club.
“There are some huge games to come this season and Ioan has a big part to play in an exciting couple of months as we look to progress in the European Challenge Cup and push for a place in the URC play-offs.
“Ioan is a fantastic professional who has given his all to the Scarlets jersey since arriving here from Bristol and there is no doubt he will be giving everything to end his time here on a high.”
Ioan Lloyd said: “Returning to play for my boyhood club Cardiff has always been a dream of mine. I’ve loved my time at the Scarlets and been grateful for the opportunity to return to Wales to play my rugby.
“There are some huge games remaining this season and I am excited by what we can achieve as a team. Hopefully we can reward the fans for their amazing support of the boys, home and away.”
