Centre Joe Roberts has been handed the captain’s armband for Scarlets Development in their clash with Ospreys A on Friday night (7pm ko).
The 21-year-old leads a side showing six personnel changes from last weekend’s 29-10 win over Dragons A at Rodney Parade.
In the back three, Josh Phillips, a replacement in Newport, starts at full-back with Tom Rogers switching to the left wing and Eddie James selected on the right. Callum Williams misses out because of a leg injury picked up against the Dragons.
Roberts continues his midfield partnership with Tyler Morgan, while Wales international Rhys Patchell is given another run-out in the No. 10 jersey after making his comeback from injury last weekend. Patchell partners scrum-half Luke Davies at half-back.
Up front, there is a new front row of Steff Thomas, Scarlets Academy hooker Morgan MacRae and Harri O’Connor; Jac Price and Morgan Jones are again named in the second row, while in the back row, Caleb Salmon, Iestyn Rees and Carwyn Tuipulotu get the nod once more.
There is a host of exciting young talent among the replacements including Scarlets Academy forwards Lewis Morgan and Lucca Giannini, Llandovery RFC’s Osian Davies and Griff Evans as well as guest backs Sam Earl Jones and Bradley Roderick-Evans (Cardiff Met).
