RGC beaten by a strong U18s Scarlets team at Parc y Scarlets on Sunday

Scarlets U18s took to the field on Sunday 2nd of February to face the North Walians RGC at 2:30 KO. It was a must-win for the Scarlets as they plough on to reach the top half of the Championship table. 

The first half saw an early start from a firey RGC inside centre, Rhys Hamilton, which was later converted by Carwyn Jones. It wasn’t long before the Scarlets got up on their feet and fought back with flanker Caine Rees-Jones crossing the line as well as his fellow scrum-half Archie Hughes making it 14-7 at half time with the additional conversion points from the boot of newest Academy signing Josh Phillips.

Into the second half, the Scarlets youngsters wasted no time in racking up the points on the scoreboard with the third try coming after inside centre Eddie James crossed the whitewash, Phillips was wide with the conversion.

RGC’s substitute hooker made it over the line for their second try of the match with Jones adding the conversion making it anybody’s game as the clock ticked on. But the Scarlets secured their home win with a final bonus point try from winger Rhun Phillips and the extra two points from Phillips making it a 26-14 final score.
