From 10am to 3pm on Saturday, August 10, Parc y Scarlets will be transformed from a theatre of rugby to a festival of fun. Families and fans will be able to take their pick from a variety of free activities and meet the heroes they’ve been cheering on the pitch.
A curtain-raiser to celebrate the new season that’s on the horizon, this year’s Scarlets Community Foundation Summer Fun day is being supported by Multiply, Coleg Sir Gâr’s programme of free maths courses for adults.
Free activities for families include a surf simulator, a bucking rugby ball, gladiator challenges as well as creative and multisport activities for all ages. Avid Scarlets fans will also get the chance to meet some of the squad to wish them luck ahead of an exciting new URC season.
Coleg Sir Gâr’s Multiply team will also be in attendance to answer questions about the free courses that are available for adults across Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion.
Multiply is a free maths programme that helps those over 19 years old to upskill, learn new maths skills, and build confidence with numbers in different ways.
Unlike lessons at school, Multiply’s team focuses on where you need maths and numeracy for your day-to-day life, tailoring their support to get the best results for you. Their experts can also help you to gain qualifications, including a Maths GCSE.
Multiply offers a very wide range of courses suited to meet many needs, from better understanding payslips and getting to grips with the household budget, to gaining new skills for work. With support from Multiply, parents can discover ways to help their children with homework help, or gain the qualification that eluded them at school.
Nia Lloyd, Coleg Sir Gâr said: “It’s going to be a wonderful Saturday down at Parc y Scarlets and we’re honoured to be able to support the Scarlets Community Foundation Summer Fun Day this year.
“We’ve got so much to offer anyone who needs support or a boost with their maths skills. We can’t wait to meet everyone and give them everything they need to take that first step in developing these important skills.”

Paul Fisher, Scarlets Community Foundation manager said: “It’s always such a fantastic occasion at our Summer Fun Day. Everyone’s excited about the new season, our players want to show the fans their raring to go. The entire team, both on and off the pitch, really appreciate all the valuable support we receive.
“As a Community Foundation, it’s only natural that we’ve partnered with a programme like Multiply by the team at Coleg Sir Gâr this year. We’re very proud of the good work we do in the community each year and Multiply is a fantastic programme that can boost skills and change lives all over Carmarthenshire. It just made sense to team up.”
