Scarlets handed Monday night first

Rob Lloyd News

Scarlets will get their first taste of Monday night rugby following the confirmation of the Guinness PRO14 fixtures for rounds 12-16.

Scarlets will finish the regular season with a clash against Connacht on Monday, March 22 at Parc y Scarlets.

The final four matches will be against sides in Conference B.

Scarlets host Benetton at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday, February 20, then head to the Scottish capital to take on Edinburgh a week later for a midday kick-off.

With the Cardiff Blues rematch having been brought forward to last weekend, Scarlets don’t feature on the weekend of March 5-7, but are back in action with a trip to Limerick to take on Munster on Friday, March 12.

The visit of Connacht completes the PRO14 campaign, which has been cut to 16 matches to accommodate the Rainbow Cup later in the season.

The top side in each conference will compete in this season’s Guinness PRO14 final on March 27.

PRO14 Rugby can confirm that no play-off games will be required for European qualification and that rankings after round 16 will be used to determine which teams will participate in next season’s Heineken Champions Cup once EPCR have confirmed the format.
