Scarlets show three changes for Connacht clash

Rob Lloyd News

Scarlets will take on Connacht in Galway on Saturday evening showing three changes from the side that beat Zebre in round five of the Guinness PRO14.

Behind the scrum, fly-half Dan Jones is restored to the No. 10 jersey in place of Angus O’Brien, who is named among the replacements.

The other changes come in the pack with Tonga international second row Sam Lousi returning to the starting line-up following suspension and Ed Kennedy replacing Uzair Cassiem at blindside flanker.

On the bench, hooker Daf Hughes is set for his first taste of rugby since suffering a serious knee injury in January, while prop Phil Price is back in the match-day squad after sitting out the Zebre match.

Scarlets head coach Glenn Delaney said: “I thought we were outstanding in the opening 30 minutes against Zebre and we will be looking for more of that. We took lots of positives from last weekend and will keep chipping away at the things we know we have to work on.

“After not playing the last two weekends, Connacht will be really enthused and looking forward to a game. They are a good side, particularly at home, we got one over them last year by playing well and with ambition, we will look to play that way again to try and put them under pressure.”
