Scarlets Rugby has announced four new senior leadership roles at Parc y Scarlets as part of significant investment and focus that will drive future success and sustainability at the club.
The new positions will bring additional expertise, vision and leadership to focus on key areas within the business to strengthen and align Scarlets’ rugby, commercial and community operations – reinforcing a strong Scarlets performance culture.
A new Rugby Performance Director will be appointed to work alongside Head Coach Dwayne Peel and his coaching team next season, reinforcing the rugby management team. Scarlets’ new Rugby Performance Director will support rugby Head Coach Dwayne Peel in delivering a winning team by helping drive a strong and refreshed vision and performance culture, focusing on delivering the highest professional standards, systems and processes that underpin and support Scarlets rugby environment.
Scarlets will also appoint a new Head of Development Pathway to focus on and lead the expansion of its successful rugby development programme including the Academy, Elite Domestic Competition (EDC) teams and the new five Emerging Player Programme (EPP) centres with an increased focus on women and girls’ rugby.
Off the field, Jon Daniels is appointed as Managing Director to lead Scarlets operations. Jon has a unique depth of experience and knowledge across both elite and community rugby operations and off-field management spanning 20 years at Scarlets. He is also at the heart of Welsh rugby future development as chair of the Rugby Management Board and sits on the PRB (Professional Rugby Board).
Scarlets Chief Operating Officer Phillip Morgan will direct financial management as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary on the Scarlets Board of Directors. A Chartered Management Accountant with more than 20 years’ director level experience in finance, and 11 years’ service at the Scarlets, Phillip Morgan will focus on providing robust financial strategy and governance at board level.
