Scarlets unleash the dragon!!

Rob Lloyd News

Scarlets are to soar into the 2021-22 season with a dragon wing design emblazoned on their new home and away jerseys.

The Macron-designed kit for the upcoming campaign sees the traditional red featuring on the home shirts with the alternate kit in anthracite grey with a red trim.

The design of the Scarlets home jersey maintains the strong traditions of the club, with white trims around the collar and sleeves. The Italian brand’s Macron Hero logo appears in white on the right breast with the Scarlets crest on the left, over the heart.  The front of the shirt features a sublimation print of dragon wings, while the tone-on-tone design down the sides of the shirt incorporates a series of diamonds, with the lettering SCARLETS set inside.

On one side of each shirt there is an embossed ‘Sosban’ – the iconic emblem of the Scarlets –  and the opposite side features the logo of Parc y Scarlets, the home of the Scarlets.

The shirts are in body fit, using the fabrics Armevo and Bodytex which guarantee lightness, breathability and maximum strength and comfort on the field of play.

Oil 4 Wales will again be the Scarlets’ primary front of shirt partner, with the Scarlets grateful for the continued support of Swansea University, Owens Group, Gravells, LBS, Lloyd & Gravell, Castell Howell, Zipworld UK, Dyfed Steel, Coleg Sir Gar and Pencnwc Holiday Park as kit partners. The logo of High Speed Transfers (HST) is new on the jersey for this season.

Aberystwyth University, John Francis, TAD, CK Supermarkets and new partners Brickability and Taylor Landscapes will have their logos on the playing shorts.

Scarlets Head of Commercial James Bibby said: “A massive thanks once again to our long-standing kit partners, your support is hugely appreciated, more now so than ever as we finally look forward to welcoming fans back into the stadium. A warm welcome as well to the new partners who have come on board for this season.

“We wanted to maintain the traditional Scarlets red for our home jersey and we’re sure our supporters will like the new grey alternate shirt.”

The new jerseys will be available online https://scarletsmacronshop.com and in the club shop at Parc y Scarlets from Thursday at 1pm.

The side will be wearing the kit on the opening United Rugby Championship game of the season, away at Edinburgh on Saturday, September 25.
