Nine of our Scarlets Academy players had a run out in the fourth round of Super Rygbi Cymru.
Second row Will Evans, fly-half Steff Jac Jones and full-back Jac Davies featured in Llandovery’s starting line-up in their last-gasp defeat to Ebbw Vale on Church Bank’s new artificial 3G surface.
Evans and Davies were both first-half try scorers for the Drovers (Jones converted both), while tight-head prop Gabe Hawley came off the bench in the second half. Senior lock Morgan Jones was also prominent.
It was a tough outing for Carmarthen Quins in the capital, with the West Walians losing heavily to Cardiff.
Highly-rated backs Iori Badham and Gabe McDonald started behind the scrum, while Keanu Evans made his first Quins start at openside. Hooker Isaac Young and scrum-half Rhodri Lewis featured as replacements.
There’s a repeat of last year’s Premiership final on Thursday when Llandovery travel to take on Newport in front of the S4C cameras (7.30pm), while Quins host Pontypool at Carmarthen Park on Saturday (2.30pm).
