It’s time to vote for your Scarlets Fans’ Player of the Season for 2022-23, sponsored by Owens Group.
There are five contenders for the award, which will be presented at the end of season awards at Parc y Scarlets on Friday evening.
OWENS FANS’ PLAYER OF THE SEASON
Sione Kalamafoni
Appearances: 21 Tries: 3
Sione has had another outstanding campaign at No. 8 and until his untimely Achilles injury made more carries and more successful carries in the URC than any other player. Will leave the Scarlets for France with a host of player-of-the-match medals in his baggage.
Sam Costelow
Appearances: 19 Tries: 4 Points: 164
Sam’s call-up to Wales’ World Cup campaign is reward for another eye-catching season in the No. 10 jersey. Still only 22 and already has nearly 50 Scarlets appearances to his name. Highlights included a superb solo try in week one against the Ospreys and that clutch conversion against Clermont.
Sam Lousi
Appearances: 20 Tries: 5
Last year’s winner of this award, the Tongan lock has picked up where he left off last season. A towering presence at the line-out, Sam has made the one-handed offload a trademark. His interception against the Cheetahs in Parma was a highlight.
Vaea Fifita
Appearances: 21 Tries: 5
What an impact Vaea has made in his first season in West Wales. Produced some dazzling individual moments worthy of any highlights reel, including interceptions against Ulster and Edinburgh, a breakaway against Munster and that try against Brive in the Challenge Cup round of 16.
Gareth Davies
Appearances: 17 Tries: 3
The Wales and British & Irish Lions scrum-half has been back to his best this season at the heart of the Scarlets’ resurgence in the second half of the season. Sharp with ball in hand, he has also been a thorn in opposition sides with his defensive reads.
